Archita was born in the city of Bhubaneswar.She completed her schooling from D.M School. She is also a talented Odissi dancer who has also won National Scholarship in Odissi^{[citation needed]}. In 2004, she was crowned as Miss Kalinga^{[citation needed]}.She did her first Oriya film 'O My Love' in 2005^{[citation needed]}, even before completing her schooling in D.M School.^[1] To her credit she has many superhits and 100 days blockbusters. Archita has won laurels^{[citation needed]} in acting, modelling and social works. With her acting, she has walked away with The best New Comer and Best Actress Awards. She is the new, yet established face in Oriya Films^{[citation needed]}. She is currently studyingB.Tech in KIIT University^{[citation needed]}.

She is presently the State level Ambassador of UNICEF and Govt. of Orissa for "eradication of child labour".^{[citation needed]} She is also the ambassador of JUNIOR RED CROSS^{[citation needed]}.

On 11 September 2010, she came to Bangalore on the occasion of Ganesh Puja on behalf of Orissa Puja Committee^{[citation needed]}.
