Anu Prabhakar (Kannada: ಅನು ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್) (born November 9, 1980) is an Indian film actress, who predominantly appears in Kannada films.[1]

Anu Prabhakar is the daughter of M. V. Prabhakar and dubbing artist and actress Gayathri Prabhakar.She is married to Krishna Kumar, son of veteran actress Jayanthi.[2] She studied at Nirmala Rani High School in Malleshwaram.[3]

Anu Prabhakar first appeared as a child artist in the films Chapala Chennigaraya and Shanthi Kranthi.[4] Her first film in a female-lead role was Hrudaya Hrudaya (1999), a Kannada film starringShivarajkumar. She has also acted in two Tamil movies.
In 2009, she gave her voice to an HIV/AIDS education animated software tutorial created by the nonprofit organization TeachAIDS.[5]

Anu Prabhakar was honoured by Bangalore's Kolada Math, with the title 'Abhinaya Saraswathi' for her performance in various films. She has won other awards such as 'Kannada State Government best actress award 2000-01' and 'Cinema Express best actress'.[2]
